Watering your sod is vital for survival in the first month.

November- April: Sod should be watered twice a day for at least 30 to 45 minutes each time for two
weeks. Weeks 3 and 4 the sod should be watered once daily for 30 to 45 minutes. You want to water the
sod long enough to get the soil underneath moist.

May- October: Sod should be watered four times a day for at least 30 to 45 minutes each time for the
first two weeks. Weeks 3 and 4 the sod should be watered at least twice daily for 30 to 45 minutes each
time. Water long enough to get the soil underneath moist.
You may apply fertilizers and herbicides around 3 to 4 weeks after installation. We recommend hiring a
professional company for lawn care. Fescue grass should be kept around 4 inches for optimum quality.
Bermuda and zoysia grasses can be kept between 2 to 3 inches.

• Best time of the year to plant Zoysia Grass:  Zoysia grass installs are more suited for late spring, early summer.  Zoysia is a warm season grass so if installed during these times, the sod will be able to spread more successfully.
